We have been asked to help find the location of the school building shown below. About all that is known is that it’s NOT in Dunn County; it MAY be somewhere along a line stretching from the town of Golden Valley to the town of Bergen, and construction was completed in 1917. The engraved words on the top center part are “19 – Public School – 17”. Reinhold Benjamin Marschke was a contract builder for this school. He also was a builder of the Werner School, formerly open in Dunn County; the museum houses detailed info about that project, courtesy of information provided by his great grandson, but this one is a mystery. The building has distinctive windows (close up in the third photo) which we hope someone may recognize. If you know where this school was / is, please send us a message by clicking on the “Contact” button above. Thanks!
Would anyone know which hardware store in Halliday is in this photo? Please send answer via the contact form on this site.
If you can identify the woman in Navy uniform, pictured above, please message us through the “contact” page.
If you recognize this young man, please let us know. Photos are from what we believe is the era of World War I.
